Jobs

Since 1869, Central Presbyterian Church has served as Home for parishioners in Waco and the surrounding areas. In 2004, CPC moved from an older building in downtown Waco (now the Meyers Center of Mission Waco) to a newer building near Estates and Highway 84, where Woodway, Waco, and Hewitt come together.

CPC is a Matthew 25 church, concerned with joining and following wherever Christ is working. We are Open and Affirming. Our worship is fairly traditional, though we have an enthusiastic group of musicians and singers—and a gracious, adventurous congregation! We believe that keeping Christ central to all we do helps us tune in to the Spirit that gathers, leads, and encourages us to make a difference in our world!

Our pastor, the Rev. Judith March Hardie (LPTS ’03), has been with us since the Fall of 2018. She has served churches in a variety of contexts, worshiping with both contemporary and traditional music (claiming it is often the music through which the Spirit moves her). She plans ahead, invites all to engage, and welcomes innovation.

 We all affirm that the worship and work Christ calls us to necessitates loving one another and serving our community with God's loving kindness. Come join our team!

With Thanks, Grace and Peace, CPC and Pastor Judith

Director of Music Ministry (Part-Time)

 After almost 20 years, our part-time Music Director is retiring;

we need new leadership and are open to new possibilities!

We have a choir of 12-15 singers

that is active in worship 11 months of the year (taking July off for vacations),

and a small hand bell choir who enjoy playing in worship regularly.

Our choirs enjoy a good and healthy fellowship,

annually celebrating “Christmas” with a BBQ in June,

and ringing & singing in December at Collin Street Bakery

and caroling in the neighborhood

(followed by a chili potluck).

Our church and choir have been involved with our community,

providing services in partnerships as well as other resources as we are able.

Come help us continue to serve God through Music Ministries!
