At Central, we are fairly informal. If you are interested in joining, please let the pastor or one of the ushers know.  Our Session will be called together to meet with you to answer any questions you might have, to determine the best date and process for joining, and just to get to know a little bit about you.

 

There are three official ways to join a PCUSA church.

1. Profession of Faith -

   • for people who have never been baptized, by professing their faith and receiving the sacrament of baptism,

   • for people who have been baptized as infants/young children, by taking Confirmation (a course on faith, calling, and membership in the Body of Christ) and making their profession of faith, and

   • for people who were baptized, but never joined a particular church--until now!

2. Reaffirmation of Faith -

•  for people who have been baptized but have not been active in a local church in recent years, and

• for people who have been baptized church members but cannot obtain a transfer of letter.

     3. Transfer of Letter -

• for people moving from one Christian congregation to another (this letter is requested by the receiving church and sent by the sending church).
